Eagles List 5 DNPs on First Week 2 Injury Report

Despite Week 1 just finishing up, we have to already look ahead to Week 2.

The Minnesota Vikings travel to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles on Thursday night, and on Monday, both teams released their first injury reports for this week.

The Vikings placed three players on their initial report, including C Garrett Bradbury who was listed as a DNP with his back injury. That being said, we have to keep in mind that the teams did not practice on Monday, so these initial injury reports are simply estimates.

On the Philadelphia side, the Eagles listed five players on their first Week 2 injury report, with all five being DNPs.

Here are the five players listed on Philadelphia’s first injury report:

  • S Reed Blankenship (DNP, Ribs)
  • CB James Bradberry (DNP, Concussion)
  • DT Fletcher Cox (DNP, Ribs)
  • LB Nakobe Dean (DNP, Foot)
  • RB Kenneth Gainwell (DNP, Ribs)

The most notable injury here is Bradberry’s concussion. The injury was suffered during Week 1 against the Patriots, and given the fact that this is a short week, there is a slim chance that he will be cleared in time for Thursday’s game against the Vikings.

It would be a big blow to Philadlephia’s secondary as they try to contain Minnesota’s passing attack featuring Jordan Addison, T.J. Hockenson, Justin Jefferson, and K.J. Osborn.

Meanwhile, LB Nakobe Dean could be out for multiple weeks because of his foot injury. Dean did not get much playing time in 2022, but he started Week 1 against the Patriots before getting hurt. He recorded 7 tackles in the game.

As for DT Fletcher Cox, his injuries don’t seem significant enough to hold him out of Thursday’s game. Cox played 50 defensive snaps in Week 1 while both Blankenship and Gainwell suffered their injuries in the final minutes of the game. Their game statuses will become clearer after tomorrow’s practice.

Both the Eagles and Vikings will release two more injury reports on Tuesday and Wednesday prior to Thursday’s game.

Kickoff between the two teams is scheduled for Thursday, September 14th at 7:15 PM CST.
