Latest Update On Liverpool’s Bid To Sign Former Premier League Midfield Star

Latest update on Liverpool’s bid to sign former Premier League midfield star

Southampton will need to sell Liverpool target Romeo Lavia, according to report.

The defensive midfielder is one of the most sellable assets after the side were relegated from the Premier League last season.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are all interested in the Belgian, but a bid is yet to be submitted.

Despite a formal offer yet to be made, it is believed that the Reds are leading the race to sign Lavia.

Klopp is extremely keen to bring the Southampton star to Anfield this summer and Lavia, in turn, is convinced by the Liverpool project that is believed to have been sold very well to him by the club’s recruitment team.

Lavia has been attracting interest from big six sides following an impressive debut Premier League campaign, despite Southampton’s relegation from the top flight.

Southampton are keen to maximise the Belgium international’s value as Man City will be entitled to 20 per cent of any fee received for his services.

That clause was negotiated as part of the reported £10.5million deal which brought Lavia to Southampton last summer (2022).

He impressed for the Saints despite their 20th-place finish and subsequent relegation, racking up 35 appearances across all competitions in his first senior campaign.

Lavia, 19, has returned to training at Southampton ahead of their first pre-season friendly against Benfica next week (12 July).
