Madden 24 Ranks Kirk Cousins as a Top 10 QB

Over the years, many have debated where exactly Kirk Cousins falls in the NFL quarterback hierarchy. His detractors point to a lack of dynamic mobility and consistent success in terms of victories over his career, believing there is no way he could be a top 10 QB with these flaws. Meanwhile, others argue for his durability and consistent production over the years.

In the end, many people place Cousins anywhere from around No. 8 to No. 14 in the NFL at the position. This week, Madden 24 has been rolling out their ratings for their game this fall, including star receiver Justin Jefferson joining the “99 Club”.

Well, it appears that the developers of the game are higher on Cousins than many others as well, and they have made him the ninth-best QB in the game heading into the new season. The Vikings QB has been rated an 84 overall in the game, the highest of any QB in the NFC North coming into the new season. Here is a look at the full top 10:

  1. Patrick Mahomes (99 Overall)
  2. Joe Burrow (95 Overall)
  3. Josh Allen (94 Overall)
  4. Lamar Jackson (91 Overall)
  5. Jalen Hurts (88 Overall)
  6. Justin Herbert (87 Overall)
  7. Dak Prescott (87 Overall)
  8. Aaron Rodgers (86 Overall)
  9. Kirk Cousins (84 Overall)
  10. Tua Tagovailoa (83 Overall)

Madden also unveiled QBs 11-20 in the game, and this is where we begin seeing the other NFC North QBs. Both Jared Goff of the Detroit Lions and Justin Fields of the Chicago Bears appear in this second tier, with Jordan Love evidently not being viewed in the same light as these players. Here is a look at 11-20:

  1. Trevor Lawrence (82 Overall)
  2. Geno Smith (81 Overall)
  3. Jared Goff (80 Overall)
  4. Kyler Murray (79 Overall)
  5. Derek Carr (78 Overall)
  6. Deshaun Watson (78 Overall)
  7. Jimmy Garoppolo (77 Overall)
  8. Russell Wilson (77 Overall)
  9. Ryan Tannehill (76 Overall)
  10. Justin Fields (76 Overall)

Overall, Cousins proved to be one of the better quarterbacks in clutch situations during the 2022 season, helping the Vikings go a ridiculous 11-0 in one-score games last year. His season seems to have been recognized by the developers with this ranking.
