Roster Shuffling, Rookie of the Year, & MN’s Receiver Problem

Vikings Territory works in partnership with PurplePTSD, similarly doing their utmost to put forth excellent Minnesota Vikings content. As a result, we occasionally promote what they have to offer in “The View from VT,” a weekly piece. Take a look at five of their articles from the past week.

The View from VT: August 26th, 2023

1) Vikings Part Ways with Linebacker: An unfortunate reality of this time of the year. Teams regularly shuffle players around to make it work. Hopefully, the depth outside linebacker gets a chance to stick around an NFL roster for the upcoming season.

2) Vikings Sign New Quarterback: The Vikings will be rolling into the season with Kirk Cousins, Nick Mullens, and Jaren Hall on the roster. Only injury could undermine that near certainty. The new add at the game’s most important position is battling for a spot on the practice squad.

3) Seahawks Cut Former Vikings RB: Bryant Koback has some talent to offer, so he may still land on his feet. Being an NFL running back isn’t easy today. There are a pile of players capable of offering great play at that position, so it’s tough to stand out.

4) Vikings Have Out-of-Nowhere Rookie of the Year Candidate: The hype just keeps growing for Mr. Ivan Pace, the UDFA LB who looks like a tremendous add. Now, I don’t necessarily foresee a DROY award but the simple fact that it has come up in conversation speaks to how strong he has been during training camp and the preseason.

5) Vikings HC Recognizes the WR Problem: Definitely a good problem for the Vikings to have. Leading the Vikings’ WR room is what looks to be a sensational trio. Behind them is a heated battle for what is likely just a single spot (or maybe two). Some good players are going to be cut, which is a bit of a problem for Minnesota.
