The Minnesota Vikings got some positive injury news this weekend as it seems that Vikings star Christian Darrisaw is set to make his return to the starting lineup.

Darrisaw sat out last Thursday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles due to an ankle injury, and Oli Udoh got the start in his place. Unfortunately, Udoh also left the game with a torn quad, thus ending his season and leaving David Quessenberry as the final left tackle on the 53-man roster.

There was some concern that it would be Quessenberry matching up against a powerful Chargers pass-rush that includes Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack, but according to a report on Sunday morning, Darrisaw is ready to get back on the field.

Tom Pelissero of NFL Network posted a few injury notes prior to the game on Sunday via X (formerly Twitter), writing, “Injury notes from @NFLGameDay in Minnesota: #Chargers DE Joey Bosa, who’s questionable with a hamstring injury, will be active and the plan is to play him a little more than last week #Vikings LT Christian Darrisaw (ankle) will start; C Garrett Bradbury (back) is unlikely to go.”

This update tells a bittersweet story for the Vikings. It is fabulous that Darrisaw will make his return today, but Garrett Bradbury now seems set to miss his second consecutive game of the season with his back injury.

Bradbury appeared in just seven snaps during the season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and he hasn’t played since. Instead, Austin Schlottmann has been answering the call at the center position for Minnesota.

With the Vikings having to take on Bosa and the rest of the Chargers defense, this will prove to be a tough mathup for the offensive line. However, hopefully Darrisaw’s return can make things a bit easier on the group.

We also have to keep in mind that Dalton Risner could be in line to make his Vikings debut after finally being signed by the team early in the week. It will be interesting to see how this new-look group performs this afternoon.
