Zion Williamson Is Ignoring The Pelicans’ Plea To Go On A Diet

Zion Williamson is in hot water with everyone in the NBA. Players and big names like Shaquille O’Neal are calling for him to improve his conditioning. Now, the New Orleans Pelicans are asking him to improve his diet. The only issue is that rumors say he’s not listening to them.

Zion Williamson Is Running On Pure Talent For The Pelicans

There’s no word from Williamson himself, but Christian Clark from The Times-Picayune claims that sources told them he “doesn’t listen” to the team.

Apparently, during their loss against the Los Angeles Lakers, he sat on the bench while struggling to breathe.

Furthermore, Williamson appeared to be winded during the first five minutes of the contest. This has gained the ire of fans, with many firing shots at him for not committing himself to the game.

Meanwhile, another user comments, “How you getting paid millions and you can’t just eat a salad bro.”

Before their massive loss to the Lakers, Charles Barkley had warned Williamson of his conditioning. However, it seems to be landing on deaf ears.

The 23-year-old did have words about his performance compared to LeBron James’ incredible performance of 30 points, five rebounds, and eight assists with no turnovers.

Compared to Williamson’s 13 points, two rebounds and three assists with three turnovers, the 38-year-old’s performance seems like a virtuoso.

“I have to be more aggressive. He [James] was aggressive. His teammates saw that, and the energy carried over. I have to be more aggressive and get off to better starts in games.”

David Griffin, Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations for the Pelicans, talked about Williamson and how the latter was spending more time at the Pelicans’ facility in the offseason than at any other point in his career.

“This was the first summer where we’ve seen Zion take his profession seriously like that and invest in it off the court on his own in a way that I think is meaningful.”

David Griffin said prior to the season

However, the consistency seems to have fallen off at the start of this season. Even with the team’s intervention, Williamson shows no sign of listening.

This could be the make-or-break moment for the two-time All-Star, and the whole basketball world is anticipating a big comeback.

Do you think the forward will accept the criticism?
